Community Rail – A Suitable Brit Import to the USA?

This paper argues that the British approach of community partnership between railway companies, local authorities and communities can bring benefits to each – more people using the railway and hence ensuring commercial viability; better community facilities; and more sustaimnable neighbourhoods. The model can be applied in both urban and rural environments, but needs a ‘champion’ to act as a catalyst.
